The 4 Dolomite passes of the Sellaronda

The 4 Dolomite passes (Sella 2.244 m, Pordoi 2.121 m, Campolongo 1.875 m and Gardena 2.239 m) around the Sella massif are called Sellaronda.

In winter it is the best known and most popular ski tour of the Alps. However, also in summer, the Sellaronda counts numerous tourists: from occasional hikers to extreme mountain climbers, all of them have the desire to experience the unique and emotionally charged beauty of the Alpine nature.

Furthermore, the bicyclists have the possibility to run free in their passion over approximately 55 km. This distance is increasingly getting very famous, since a lot of events take place on the Sellaronda: a crucial contribution to the huge success of “Sellaronda Bike Day” (20.000 participants), “HERO Südtirol Dolomites” and “ECOdolomites”, is offered not only the demanded physical challenge but mainly the breath-taking mountain scenario of the Dolomites.

Thanks to this locomotion alternative, you will have the possibility to enjoy the unbelievable landscape to the full and at the same time, you take action against the environmental pollution generated through the severe traffic around the Sella mountain group.

The Sellaronda is opened in two directions. Technical data with the mountain bike:

  • clockwise: total path: 57.5 km; meters altitude uphill: 807 m, alt.; meters altitude downhill: 3,873 m. alt.; maximum altitude: 2,484 m
  • counter-clockwise: total path: 54.5 km; meters altitude uphill 1,283 m. alt.; meters altitude downhill: 3,182 m. alt.; maximum altitude: 2,369 m
